At least 65 employees of the famous Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba in Haryana’s Murthal have tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. In another development, one more food joint in Haryana’s Murthal is sealed as ten workers at that eating joint tested positive for COVID-19.
Both eateries are located in Sonipat’s Murthal and nearly 50 km away from Delhi.
The official said both dhabas have been sealed till further orders and efforts are on to trace as many contacts as possible of the positive cases.
The district administration has ordered to sanitise both the eateries.
The official said the Sonipat district administration has been running a special drive for the sampling of workers at the dhabas and it was during this process that these cases were detected.
In view of the coronavirus pandemic, the district administration carried out routine checks at dhabas when they found the workers to be COVID-19 positive.
Haryana witnessed its highest single-day spike of 1,881 coronavirus cases with 19 fatalities on Thursday.
190 coronavirus cases were reported in Sonipat district as per state Health Department bulletin.
Sonipat so far has reported 4,747 cases with 41 fatalities making it the third worst-hit district after Faridabad and Gurgaon.
