The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on June 29, Monday issues guidelines for ‘Unlock 2’ phase across the country between July 1 and July 31. Under ‘Unlock 2’ the educational institutions, Metro Rail services, cinema halls and gyms will not be allowed to open but more domestic flights and passenger trains will be allowed in a calibrated manner.
Social, political, sporting, entertainment, academic, religious and cultural gatherings and functions continue to remain banned.
International travel will also be limited only to Vande Bharat mission.
Night curfew shall continue to remain in force, between 10 pm and 5 am, except for essential activities and other relaxations. But states, based on their assessment of the situation, will have the final call on the activities outside the containment zones, the Centre said.
In the third phase decision on international air travel, metro services, cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools, theatres, bars and other places of assembly may be taken.
In India number of coronavirus cases being recorded for two consecutive days are more than 19,000. The numbers are expected to cross 5.5 lakhs.
In containment zones, lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly till 31 July, 2020. States and UTs, based on their assessment of the situation, may take the decision to ban certain activities outside the Containment zones, or impose restrictions.
No permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for movements for inter-State and intra-State of persons and goods.
‘Unlock 2’ guidelines
- The increase in the number of domestic flights and passenger trains will be taken gradually in a calibrated manner.
- Schools, colleges and coaching institutions to remain shut till July 31, 2020.
- Shops have to follow the norms of maximum five persons at a time, maintaining others norms like social distancing.
- Training institutions of the Central and State Governments will be allowed to function with effect from July 15, 2020. SOP in this regard will be issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India.
- Night curfew timings have been changed to 10.00 pm to 5.00 am.
