Lockdown 4.0 will come into force on May 18, Monday, according to the announcement by the ministry of Home Affairs. The new lockdown phase will be more relaxed and will be in effect till May 31. The decision for lockdown extension has been taken keeping in mind the rising number of novel coronavirus cases across the country. The lockdown is expected to be more be with several relaxations as it focuses on gradual revival of economic activities.
The fresh set of guidelines regarding the fourth phase of the lockdown will be issued shortly.
While Karnataka has extended its lockdown till May 19, earlier today Maharastra, Tamil Nadu followed Punjab and Mizoram and extended the lockdown till May 31.
The Covid-19 figure in India crossed 90,000 mark and crossed China’s tally (84,649).
