The lockdown in India due to COVID-19 pandemic has been extended till May 17 and fresh guidelines have been issued to regulate different activities during the period. On Saturday evening, the number of cases reported by the Union Health Ministry, climbed to 37,776. With record 2,411 new cases reported on Saturday, India’s count reaches close to 38,000.
While Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with total number of cases rising to 11,506 with 485 deaths.
Gujarat is the second most affected state as it reported 4,721 cases so far, followed by Delhi with 3,738 cases, according to the Health Ministry data.
