It took a 24-km trek for Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu to meet people in a remote village. The Chief Minister trekked for 11 hours to meet people of Luguthang village.
The 41-year old chief minister posted a video of his trek which he calls ‘a trek to remember’ and ‘Paradise untouched’.
“It was an arduous journey while crossing Karpu-La (16,000 ft) to Luguthang (14,500 ft),” CM Khandu tweeted after returning to Tawang on Thursday.
The village is merely 97 km from Tawang but is located at a height of 14,500 feet above sea level, in Thingbu tehsil of Tawang district. As the village is inaccessible by road, has a population of only 50 people who live in 10 houses.
“Had a review meeting with Luguthang villagers to ensure that benefits of every flagship programme reaches the last man standing in forward areas,” wrote the CM.
