More than 2,500 children are expected to participate in the mini marathon being organized on December 6.
There are four categories for the run- 1km-long costume run for parents, grandparents and children aged 0 to 12 years of age, 3km-timed run for 5 to 15-year-olds, 5km-timed run for 8 to 18-year-olds and 10km-timed run for 12 to 18-year-olds. There are also trophies for inter school champions and school with the highest participation.
The promoter of Gurgaon Road Runners, Siddharth Chaudhary shares, “We have done many events for adults but this is the first time we are organizing something of this kind for kids. This is an attempt to inculcate a healthy lifestyle amongst kids.”
Manish Sharma, an active volunteer for GRR says, “We are extremely enthusiastic for the event. We have received a good response from people of Gurgaon. This is an initiative to introduce kids to outdoor activities.”
